= Proof of this rare and large mezzotint with dedication in pen and ink to "S.A.S. Madame la Duchesse de Brunswick" (the mother of the Duke of Brunswick-Lunenburg). This portrait shows the children of stadtholder Willem V, i.a. the later king William I of the Netherlands. This mezzotint portrait was bought from Poggi by the Orange-Nassau family in 1790 (announced in the s-Gravenhaagsche Courant of 1 november 1790). This proof was presented to the Duke od Brunswick 's mother on the occasion of the Duke's marriage to princess Louise. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XCVI.
