= Extensive and attractive album showing several events in the life of a (South German) family. Depicted are i.a. a trip to Egypt (i.a. locals and monuments); famlily portraits in front of a house and of its interior; men hunting; a day at the beach; a trip to a horse riding event; men in army uniforms; a blimp and other vehicles and all kinds of snapshots. = Mostly town views, i.a. 'de beurs van Berlage'; Rembrandt square (former Thorbecke square) in Amsterdam; Oude Gracht in Utrecht (with the 'Domtoren' in the background); Swiss cities (i.a. Montreux and Yverdon-les-Bains); American cities (i.a. St. Francisco and New Orleans) and German cities (i.a. Munich and Strassburg).
= Mostly French views, i.a. of French Riviera, Le Havre, Château de Pompadour, Champrosay (nowadays called Draveil, suburb of Paris), La Bourboule (Puy-de-Dôme), Paris, but also Antwerp, Brussels (13x). Also a series (of 16 slides) showing a carnavalesque parade with decorated wagons (French/ Belgian?). And a series of ±50 views showing the Jardin d'Acclimatation in the Bois de Boulogne, Paris with i.a. birds and mamals and a series of exotic animals in front of a cart or a carriage, i.a. a zebra, an ostrich and llamas.
AND a few boxes with unused plates.
= Showing travels through i.a. Belgium, Germany, Scotland and Switzerland.
= Various subjects incl. politics, royalty, sports, arts and theatre, daily life etc. I.a. Beatlemania and Yuri Gagarin visiting the London Tower.
- First print sm. dam. spot in lower outer corner. Otherwise fine. = Nice anonymous studio portraits.
- Foxed. = Depicting the dredger Gouverneur Generaal Idenburg (built 1911).

= The press photographs on the occasion of Hepburn's visit to the Netherlands during the premiere of Roman Holiday, in the company of i.a. Mel Ferrer and Guus Oster.
- Right upper corner chipped; tiny tear in lower blank margin.
= Contempory annotation on verso passepartout: 'Taken on 8th October 1924 - the last day of the 3 weeks' fast. Just before the fast ended.' The little girl sitting on the edge of the bed is Indira Gandhi (1917-1984) who later became the first female Prime Minister of India. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXI.

= Views of various cities (i.a. Trapani, Palermo, Perugia, Assisi, Naples, Rome), landscapes (i.a. Mount Vesuvius, Mount Etna) and some nice scenes by i.a. Alinari (7x), Brogi (3x), F. Galifi Crupi (6x), L. Mauro (2x) and Filippo Bruno (3x).
- A few photographs dogeared/ trifle soiled.
= Contains portraits of i.a. groups (both men and women), babies, families, soldiers and officials, people in traditional costumes and several snapshots.
= Remarkable collection of photographs in very nice, delicate colouring. Incl. many scenes of daily life (i.a. a vegetable market and lively street scenes), people in traditional dress, crafts- and tradesmen, natural wonders and countryside views (i.a. with Mount Fuji), temple architecture, scenes w. actors and ceremonies etc. Also incl. a number of (uncoloured) albumen prints showing various Asian ethnic types (i.a. Java, Siam) and 17 uncoloured albumen prints of China. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXII.
= Possibly taken at Chez Claude Aveline éditeur, the small Parisian publishing house founded by Aveline in 1922 who published several works by Valéry. Stamp of "Studio - Landau" on flimsy. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXII.

With snapshots on board of the "Kitano Maru" in 1936, a vessel belonging to the "N.Y.K. Line".
